I’m so excited to go to a Night Market for the first time tomorrow! With over 40 vendors, there will be offerings of tasty foods for under 5 bucks a pop. Luckily I’ll be with friends which means I can increase my tastings!
Night Market has taken place in different neighborhoods all over Philly, and tomorrow night will be in Northern Liberties, on 2nd Street stretching from Fairmount St. to George St. I can’t wait!
Bittman loves Philly
NYT columnist Mark Bittman gave Philadelphia a major shout-out this week, identifying it as “among the most inspiring cities, food-wise.” His kudo spotlighted the Food Bucks program, which supports farmers’ markets and an after-school program that gets kids writing via food and gardening. It’s nice to see a city being recognized for doing positive things, particularly with regard to food and education.
There are some things that Philly works hard on, and some things Philly does right. Oh, and we have some just fantastic chefs, too.
