Welcome to my blog! I wanted to record all of the yummy things I am making (with the help of my wonderful sous chef, Slip) in the kitchen and enjoying at the many fantastic restaurants in Philadelphia. I am currently a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania, which means not going to restaurants too frequently, and cooking a little more cheaply if possible— and it is! I love food because not only are there so many delicious combinations that we can create every day, but because it is something that brings people together in any situation. We eat when we celebrate, when we mourn, and when we relax, bringing together family and friends. Also, I know that when baking it is important to follow a recipe, because baking is a science. But I learned from my grandmother that following a recipe while cooking is completely unnecessary— it is all about how it tastes to you. It is a unique opportunity we all have to be creative. Try anything and abandon yourself to different flavors.

Bon appetit!
One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating. -Luciano Pavarotti
