Monday I was feeling especially stressed out about studying when my amazing fiance gave me a wonderful surprise— a lovely lunch at Parc Brasserie, the perfect way to take in the beauty of Rittenhouse on a (mildly) breezy summer day, and enjoy some stress free time with him.

I enjoyed a filling but fresh Niçoise Salad, topped with seared tuna. When asked if I wanted to leave off the anchovies I decided to just go for it. I don’t think anchovies (in that form) are for me. Always good to try new things!

And I also ate some of Slip’s frites- they have some of my favorite at Parc. They came alongside a juicy ribeye steak sandwich, topped with horseradish and arugula.

But one of my favorite things that I will always be happy to get on the table at Parc is the bread. French bread, country bread, and a walnut bread with fresh butter are always perfection. Never underestimate the power of really good, fresh, warm bread served with softened, spreadable, salty butter.

I was so grateful for this lunch after all the stress I was feeling about studying for my test. And the best part? Tonight I passed! I’m licensed! Hooray for me!
