Sweet n' Sour Cabbage
Three weeks in a row we’ve gotten cabbage in our CSA, and I’ve been unsure what to do with it, without a ton of time. Then this week I came across a recipe for sweet n’ sour cabbage, and I was so excited. My Grandma used to always keep a jar of this in her fridge. I wouldn’t have tried it if not forced (“Don’t you trust your Grandma you’ll like...

Sweet Corn and Tomato Salad
Along with my veggie meal, Slip and I prepared this fresh and delicious corn and tomato salad. I love summer corn and summer tomatoes, two of the best pieces of produce this time of year. Naturally the perfect thing to do is to combine them.
Sweet Corn and Tomato Salad
4 Ears Fresh Corn (or 2 Cups Frozen Corn)
1/4 Red Onion, Diced
2 Small Shallots, Diced
8-10 Grape Tomatoes, Halved

Roasted Red Potatoes and Sage
Last week we had a lot of fresh from the farm produce (thank you, CSA) and fortunately I was in the mood for veggies for dinner. One easy dish I popped in the oven was some red potatoes, washed and cubed, tossed with some olive oil, salt and pepper, minced garlic, and fresh sage. Place on a baking sheet and bake at 400 for 45 minutes to an hour (they should be fork tender and crispy on the...

Battle: Delicatessen
I spent the last two mornings house-hunting in the Philly suburbs of Lower Merion— not for myself, but alongside some of my favorite family members who are moving to the Philly suburbs (yippee!) Yesterday, after a morning of viewing some homes that had some to-die-for kitchens, we were famished.
One thing the East Coast is surely known for is fantastic delicatessen. I’m not very...

Banana Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk Cookies
Does it seem like you often have some bananas that are ready to be baked? After using a recent batch in my favorite banana bread I wanted to try something new that was portable and, of course, had some chocolate in it. I adapted this (pretty healthy) recipe from Kitchen Karate, and it was very, very tasty, and something I would definitely make again. Because there are no eggs, flour, and almost no...

Cabbage Salad with Sesame Dressing
A few weeks ago I got a head of green cabbage in my CSA, and while I really wanted to make my grandmother’s recipe for stuffed cabbage in tomato sauce, I just didn’t have the time or energy. I did have time though to make this flavorful and crunchy salad, a great side dish for a nice piece of salmon or an Asian-themed meal. I also think it would actually be super yummy rolled up in a...

Guapos Tacos
Have I mentioned that I love Jose Garces? Like a fawning over, can’t get enough of you love. Every single restaurant of his that I’ve dined at has been sensationally delicious. From my favorite poached egg and asparagus dish at Amada, to a truffled mushroom burger at Village Whiskey, brunch at Garces Trading Co., or the chestnut soup at Tinto, I’ve loved it all.
One of my...

Pasta with Kale and Cannellini Beans
We’ve been getting a lot kale in our CSA shares so I’ve been cooking with it a ton, as have a lot of my friends. This recipe is requested by Amy, and something I made recently that I absolutely loved. I brought in some leftovers to work for lunch the following day and everyone went nuts over the fragrant aroma of this dish. Just as delicious as it smells, it is hearty and really...
