Mmmmmm, waking up to a cuddle fest followed by fresh bagels and croissants from Metropolitan Bakery is the best. Oh, and it’s a beautiful day in Philadelphia to top things off. Happy Spring!
Marathon on the Square
Wednesday night I was exhausted from my last day of my internship and there was no way I was cooking anything. Feeling indecisive, Slip and I chose to order carry-out from Marathon Grill, a local restaurant which has great variety and usually is satisfying. Again indecisive I ordered two things— Matzoh Ball soup and Baked Mac and Cheese. Slip got the Southwestern Salad.

Food, Fun, and Doggy Fashion
Tomorrow my beautiful neighborhood will be hosting the Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival. You local Philadelphians will have the opportunity to enjoy food tasting booths from the likes of Rouge, Max Brenner, Zama, Metropolitan Bakery, and my new favorite, the Oyster House, to name a few. There will also be a Philabundance Food Drive, and if you bring donations you’ll have the opportunity to...

Blueberry Lemon Coffee Cake
Yum! I ended up deciding to bring this to my potluck last week, and it was a big success. Everyone seemed to really like it, and the apartment smelled incredible when it was baking. It is definitely a recipe that will be added to my list of favorites, and can be made with blackberries, too. A perfect brunch bring along.

Done with class!
Last Wednesday was my final day of classes of my first year of graduate school… Whew. Although the week was difficult to get through, for a variety of reasons, there were some highlights. They included the fact that one of my fabulous professors is a really good baker. She brought in a whole spread to celebrate our last class together. My favorite was the strawberry trifle she made, which...

Never show up to a party empty-handed...
On Saturday Amy hosted another big get together, this time a spring time BBQ. It was complete with burgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, and some nibbles like spinach artichoke dip and chips and salsa. Even though Amy assured me that I didn’t need to bring anything, she also conceded that I like to cook so it was ok if I did. I was up early working on final papers (only 2 more to go!) so I had...
Suggestions, Please!
For one of my last-first year of grad school-we spent the whole year together-so sad to move on classes this week, we are having a potluck breakfast. I opted to bring chocolate chip banana bread, because it is one of my favorite things and one of the best things I make (if I do say so myself!) But I was thinking— I brought this to the potluck last semester, and maybe I should bring something...
